At Varloch we believe in being competitive, but to us competition is not simply a question of price, but also competitive quality, timeliness, cleanliness, communication, and safety. This gives us an edge and gives you the comfort that the job will be carried out professionally and to the highest standards.
Every element of your build is important; hence we pay meticulous attention to all aspects of your construction. We take pride in our ability to transform our clients’ conceptualised designs into a reality. With ever growing relationships within the industry, we are proud to collaborate with the best craftsmen, contractors and designers in the industry, and our team is always growing.
With all workmanship, exceeding national standards and codes of conduct is 100% guaranteed. We build large and small. Every project is treated equally with the same drive, enthusiasm and excitement. Whether you have got a $500,000 project or a $7 million project the process is the same, no job is too big or too small.
Our vision is to become the most sought-after custom construction company in Australia and to set a higher standard within the construction industry, providing more sustainable, reliable and detailed structures.
In 2012, I took up carpentry with one of the most reputable companies in the industry, Gabriel O’Shea Building –working closely with the lead builder, Anthony Houston, who is now the director of Vale Building. During my 4-year apprenticeship, I had taken on the management of a $2m new construction project in Bilgola Plateau and then taking the lead on a Gabriel O’Shea $7.2m renovation project.
I finished up my time with Gabriel O’Shea building in 2020 with a beautiful heritage homestead of Tyreel Stud in Agnes Banks as my final project. I entered the construction industry with a clear vision of where I wanted to be – running my own building & construction business. Together with Jan Lochtenberg, this became possible – utilising his strengths in business management and my experience in building and managing numerous projects. Together, we will provide the best building experience to our clients while building our vision of becoming the most reputable building & construction company in Sydney..
In 2017, I dyed my white-collar blue and joined Clearview Constructions with clear intentions to understand how the business was run. A year later, I started a roofing & trades services company with a colleague, which I ran successfully for 3 years. During this time, I learned how to manage residential and commercial worksites and projects, liaise with tradesmen, clients, and run the accounts and administration functions, key for an effective business. In 2020 I partnered with licensed builder, Nicholas Varley. We envisioned taking on larger projects with an eye for detail and improving on industry standards in every way.
Introduction In the recent years, sustainability has become more of a focus across different fields – including building and construction. At Varloch, we play our part and endorse services of sustainable building. These services come down to improving energy efficiency, resource efficiency, reducing water usage and waste. The benefits of a sustainable, carbon neutral home for the occupants include low Utility bills, and better heat regulation across all seasons. There will also be less pollutants in the indoor air quality and less waste going to landfill.
What is a ‘GreenSmart’ House? In Australia, there is a ‘GreenSmart’ House Accreditation for builders to follow key design elements for 7 environmental practices, to ensure the home meets carbon neutral status. Some of the practices do come with a higher upfront cost –so if the client’s budget does not allow full GreenSmart design, it is still important and beneficial to focus on some of the environmental practices rather than none.
The 7 environmental practices include:
- Energy Management
- Water Management
- Indoor Air Quality Management·
- Material Selection·
- Universal Design·
- Site Management·
- Resource Efficient Practice
